Bike to Work Day

Bike to Work Day is an annual event held each spring across the United States and Canada that promotes bicycling as healthy, fun, low-impact commuting option. The Saratoga Springs Bike to Work Day challenge is organized by Bikeatoga, a local organization dedicated to promoting a better future by making functional cycling more convenient, accessible, and safer in and around Saratoga Springs, New York. The Capital District Transportation Committee, the metropolitan planning organization for the region, coordinates bike-friendly events like this one for Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady, and Saratoga Counties.

For several years, Skidmore employees have taken part in the friendly competition among community organizations. Faculty and staff join together in downtown Saratoga Springs for Bikeatoga's "Bike To Work Breakfast" and meet with fellow riders in the community, then ride up to campus as a group before the workday begins. It's a fun, healthy event than many look forward to each spring.
