London FYE Admissions
|ACCEPTED STUDENTS: It's not too late to be considered for the London FYE! Simply follow the instructions below and submit your essay to SkidmoreLondon@skidmore.edu as soon as possible.|
How do I apply for the London First Year Experience?
If you have not already done so, make sure that you select the "Saratoga or London" option under preferred residence on the Common Application.
- Complete a brief essay that answers the following prompt:
Tell us about a particular experience that suggests your readiness for study abroad. How did the experience stretch you or challenge you in a way that demonstrates your independence, decision-making skills, or ability to embrace new people or ideas? Such an experience need not involve travel; it could have happened right in your own backyard. Choose something that clearly led to personal growth.
- Please email your essay to the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include name, high school, and Common Application ID.
Deadline: November 15 for Early Decision Round I; January 15 for Early Decision Round II and Regular Decision
Please note: All students must be 18 years old by the start of the London program (August 24, 2017, for the 2016–2017 Admissions cycle).
Will applying for the London FYE affect my chances for admission to Skidmore?
No. All applicants must meet the same academic requirements for admission to Skidmore. Once we have made our admissions decisions, admitted students who have applied for the London program will be evaluated separately for admission to the London FYE.
If I am admitted to the London FYE, am I required to participate?
No. You can choose to enroll on the Saratoga campus or in London when you submit your enrollment form. Once you have submitted your enrollment form, your decision is binding.
