Benjamin Givan is a musicologist specializing in jazz. He is the author of The Music of Django Reinhardt (University of Michigan Press) and has published articles in journals such as the Journal of the American Musicological Society, Musical Quarterly, Current Musicology, Journal of Musicology, American Music, and Journal of the Society for American Music. He received an A.B. in Music and History from Brown University and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Music from Yale University.
