Am I a first-generation student?
You’re considered first-generation if your parent or guardian hasn’t earned a four-year degree. Students whose parents studied outside the U.S. may also identify this way. At Skidmore, you’re part of a valued and growing community with faculty, staff, and peers who understand your experience and are here to support you. If you identify as a first-generation, there is a place for you in the first-generation network.
