More than a bookstore

The Skidmore Shop is the official campus store of Skidmore College. Located in Case Center and online at SkidmoreShop.com, the Shop provides course materials, Skidmore-branded merchandise, Commencement regalia, department orders, and support for campus events.

As part of the Office of Communications and Marketing, the Skidmore Shop works with campus departments to select merchandise and products that reflect Skidmore’s brand and visual identity.

Course materials

The Skidmore Shop sources materials faculty request for their courses and sells them to students, prioritizing affordability over profit. 

For faculty:

Faculty should submit course material lists as early as possible to ensure the most affordable options can be sourced.

For students: 

Visit the Skidmore College Online Bookstore to order your course materials. Pick up physical materials at the Skidmore Shop and bring a photo ID. After you log in, digital materials will be available in “My Library” or “My Courses.” Order early for the best selection of lower-priced materials (while they last) and available free-delivery options.

Branded merchandise and department orders

The Skidmore Shop helps departments order Skidmore-branded merchandise, giveaways, promotional items, thank-you gifts, apparel, and event materials.

The Shop can assist with product selection, vendor coordination, ordering, and brand alignment. Departments should work with the Shop before ordering Skidmore-branded items independently to help ensure quality, consistency, appropriate logo use, and alignment with College standards.

College business discount

Departmental purchases receive a 15% College business discount in addition to being tax-exempt. This discount applies only to purchases made for official College business and does not apply to personal purchases made by individual employees.

Pop-up shop requests

Departments may request a Skidmore Shop pop-up for campus events when branded merchandise or retail sales would enhance the event experience.

Pop-ups require advance planning and are reviewed based on timing, location, staffing, inventory, and expected audience. Pop-ups must generate enough net revenue to cover staffing from setup through breakdown. If revenue does not cover staffing costs, the requesting department will be billed.
