International Student Admissions
Welcome to Skidmore, International Applicants
I'm sure you'll agree that today, more than ever, pursuing international study is vital to furthering global understanding. I personally hope you'll give Skidmore serious consideration. Certainly, no institution is perfect for everyone, but our strong and growing family of international students—250+ students from nearly 70 countries—confirms that Skidmore offers highly desirable assets:
- highly selective ranking
- outstanding teaching and faculty-student collaboration
- small classes and labs
- a full calendar of cultural, athletic, and social activities
- a safe, scenic, and vibrant location in close proximity to New York City, Boston, and Montreal
What's more difficult to detail, of course, is the warmth, friendliness, and authentic welcome Skidmore extends to all of its students. Good luck in your exploration. We very much hope to welcome you in person. (And if you can't, I encourage you to take our interactive virtual tour.)
President Philip A. Glotzbach
Skidmore considers an international student to be any individual who does not have United States citizenship or a permanent resident visa. In regards to the application process, the international admission counselors evaluate all applications for international students as well as US citizens attending school outside of the United States.
