Sustainable Skidmore is committed to ensuring that the campus community understands that true sustainability is about more than simply environmental stewardship and responsibility. This is why Sustainable Skidmore and the Office of Student Diversity Programs (OSDP) teamed up to offer an annual dialogue series that provides the campus with an opportunity to discuss topics with strong connections between social justice, diversity, and sustainability.
The theme for the 2013–14 academic year is "food justice." To kick off the series, students facilitated a dialogue titled "Food Accessibility—Are our decisions around food really a choice?" We had a great audience of students, faculty, and staff. With such a positive response we plan to have more dialogues during the spring 2014 semester. Please stay tuned.
