ACOP Membership
In 2010, as a response to FEC’s motion on reducing committee membership across campus, ACOP decided to reduce its size significantly. At that time, ACOP moved from a committee of three to seven faculty members, to a committee of one faculty member, who was a member of CEPP, and the Director of OCSE. ACOP served as an advisory committee to OCSE on routine policy and procedural questions, new program development, shifts to the Approved Programs lists or structure, non-approved program petitions, and any concerns or questions that might affect the faculty or academic program.
In the fall of 2017, based on a request from OCSE’s director, ACOP expanded its membership to include two faculty members plus the director of OCSE: one faculty to come from CEPP and serve as the chair of ACOP and the other faculty to come from the faculty at large. ACOP’s work remains the same, but the additional faculty member allows for more robust discussion of questions that arise. The committee will continue its practice of seeking guidance from appropriate faculty members across the College when there is a need for specific experience or expertise in a given area. Even though ACOP is an advisory group, it will remain a standing sub-committee of CEPP and will report to CEPP.
