Climate Change Scholar Program
Tell us about your big idea to make a positive impact on our world and you could receive a full scholarship to attend EXCEL!
The Climate Change Scholar Program seeks to identify entrepreneurial-minded individuals with a passion for sustainability and a big idea in clean energy.
With awards of full tuition support to attend EXCEL, the Climate Change Scholar Program provides recipients with an opportunity to cultivate their promising new product, program or technology that has the potential to preserve our environment and better our world.
During the weeklong summer residency at Skidmore College, scholars will gain unparalleled access to the business of clean technology through instruction, networking and collaboration with thought leaders, scientists, policymakers, business executives, investors and fellow entrepreneurs. They will receive invaluable one-on-one mentoring in the development of a capstone project – a business plan or similar deliverable – to bring their idea to life. Scholars will be required to pitch their project to panel of cleantech experts and investors in January.
The Climate Change Scholar Program invites applications from business professionals, students and recent graduates with a promising cleantech idea and spirit of entrepreneurship. Those selected will receive a scholarship to attend EXCEL Cleantech Boot Camp at Skidmore in Saratoga Springs, NY, July 31-August 5, 2016. Recipients must pay for room and board two weeks prior to the start of the program. A limited number of scholarships are available and the number awarded will be based on the quality of submissions.
