Health Services Staff

Director
Abigail Caldwell, RN, MSN, APRN                                                                                                                                        Abigail joined Health Services in August 2021. She is a Nurse Practitioner with a Masters in Nursing from Yale University School of Nursing. She also holds a BS in Theater from Skidmore College. She has previous health care experience in women's health and primary care. She is excited to be part of the Health Services team and looks forward to helping students with their healthcare needs. Outside of work, Abigail enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Associate Director
Michelle Lapo, BSN, RN
Michelle is a full time RN with Skidmore Health Services since 2006. She enjoys speaking with the students and helping them understand their health care needs. She shares an active family life with her husband and triplet boys.

Office Coordinator
Rebecca Rumpf

Rebecca joined Health Services in January 2021 after completing a degree in Occupational Therapy. She loves being a part of the Skidmore community and enjoys the day-to-day contact with the students. Outside of work, Rebecca works per-diem for Saratoga Hospital and interests include reading, hiking, snowshoeing and spending time with family and friends.


Providers

Kelly McAree, RPA-CKelly is a board-certified Physician Assistant who works full time in Health Services. She holds a BS in Athletic Training/Exercise Science from Ithaca College and attended Northeastern University for her MS in Physician Assistant Studies. Kelly has over 10 years of experience in primary care/family medicine in community health center settings. Health education and literacy, women’s health as well as performance improvement in healthcare are among her particular interests. She lives in Saratoga Springs with her husband and 2 young children.

Carla Suna, MSN, FNP
Carla is a Family Nurse Practitioner who works part-time in Health Services. She has a BS in nursing from the University of Rochester and received her MS from SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the New York State Association for Nurse Practitioners, and the New York State College Health Association. While certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, her specific areas of interest are gynecological care, health promotion, and STI prevention. 

Meg Schiemann, RPA-C
Meg Schiemann is a board-certified Physician Assistant who works part-time in Health Services. She received a BS in Biology from Siena College. She then attended Wake Forest University in North Carolina where she graduated with a Masters in Medical Science. She has previous health care experience working in orthopedics, sports medicine, and spine health. She is so excited to be part of the Skidmore Health Services team. She thoroughly enjoys helping students with their health care needs while supporting them in on-campus events and performances. Outside of work, Meg enjoys outdoor time with her family, spent both in Saratoga Springs and the Adirondacks. 

Kendra Kline, MSN, FNP

Kendra is a Family Nurse Practitioner who works per diem in Health Services. She received her RN degree from SUNY Adirondack and her MSN from Russell Sage. Kendra has extensive experience working in Emergency Medicine and Primary Care. She is excited to be part of the Health Services team and helping students with their health care needs. Outside of work, Kendra enjoys spending time with family and friends.


Consulting Physican

Debbie Flaherty, MD
Dr. Flaherty is Board certified in Family Medicine. She has held positions in primary care, academic medicine and dermatology. She is experienced to diagnose and treat both acute and chronic illness, in people of all ages. She enjoys developing strong relationships with her patients and working with them to achieve their optimal health. She lives in Saratoga Springs with her husband and three children. Her kids love attending Skidmore hockey games and participating in Skidmore summer camps. She is very honored to be a member of the Skidmore community.


Nursing Staff


Kara Sysyn, BSN, RN
Kara is a full time RN at Skidmore Health Services. She received her Bachelors in Nutrition from the University of New Hampshire and her BSN in Nursing from SUNY Binghamton. She is excited to be part of the Health Services team and helping students with their health care needs. Outside of work, Kara enjoys spending time with her family and friends going skiing, hiking, yoga and traveling.


Colleen Shamberger, BSN, RN

Colleen is a full time RN at Skidmore Health Services. She has been a registered nurse for over 25 years and has various experience such as oncology, home care and  IV nursing. She earned her BSN at Niagara University. For the past 10 years she has enjoyed working in a school setting. She truly enjoys working with college aged students and helping them navigate the medical system. She has 3 children and enjoys spending time with them, her husband and her family dog. She loves to bake, make stationery and attend Skidmore theater productions put on by the students.

Molly Grace-McCarthy, BSN, RN
Molly is a full time RN at Skidmore Health Services since April 2022. Molly has many years of nursing experience, including Medical Surgical and GI. Molly received her RN degree from SUNY Adirondack and her BSN from Maria College. She is excited to be part of the Health Services team and helping students with their health care needs. Outside of work, Molly is a certified yoga and meditation instructor with a passion in healthy self-care practices. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
 
Kristen Corcoran, BSN, RN
Kristen is a per diem RN at Skidmore Health Services. She received her BSN from the University of Southern Maine. Kristen also works for Skidmore Health Promotion as a Wellness Coach. In her free time she enjoys running, working out, traveling with her husband, and watching her two boys play lacrosse and baseball.
 
Lori Barker, MS, RN, CTH

Lori is a per diem RN at Skidmore Health Services since January 2022. Lori has over thirty years of nursing experience, including 18 years in Emergency Nursing and 7 years in Travel Health. She received her BSN from McNeese State University and MS as an Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist from UMass Graduate School of Nursing. Lori earned a Certificate in Travel Health™ from the International Society of Travel Medicine and enjoys sharing her immunization and travel health knowledge with others. Lori is currently a part-time nurse for SHMG Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Outside of work, she and her husband enjoy visiting State and National Parks, botanical gardens, craft breweries and the Caribbean.

Donna-Rae Brown, BSN, RN
Donna-Rae is a per diem RN at Skidmore Health Services. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2019. Outside of work, Donna-Rae enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and making arts and crafts with her nieces and nephews.

Catalina Provost, BSN, RN                                                                                                                                              Catalina is a per diem RN with Skidmore College. Outside of work, Catalina enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
